A Indian Air Force pilot has died in an apparent mid-air collision between a Mirage 2000 fighter and a Su-30MKI.
The deceased pilot was identified as Wg Cdr Hanumanth Rao Sarathi. The two-man crew of the Su-30 managed to eject to safety.
The incident took place in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district on Jan. 28. Both jets had taken off from Gwalior Air Force base.
