In a major step towards bolstering air defenses across Europe, the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) has secured a contract for up to 1,000 upgraded Patriot Guidance Enhanced Missiles (GEM-T) for a coalition of nations including Germany, the Netherlands, Romania, and Spain. The GEM-T missile, a crucial component of the combat-proven Patriot air defense system, serves as the primary weapon against a range of threats, including cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, and enemy aircraft.
