“We are greatly honoured by the selection of the H145M to support the Royal Brunei Air Force’s expanded missions,” said Bruno Even, CEO of Airbus Helicopters, according to the press release. “The H145M is well regarded for its high performance and versatility, and we are confident that it will bring a step change in operational readiness to Brunei.”

The H145M is a multi-role military helicopter designed to excel in diverse missions. It will provide the RBAirF with enhanced capabilities for tasks such as close air support and aerial observation. This versatility strengthens the RBAirF’s operational flexibility and effectiveness.

The H145M boasts a proven track record. The global H145 family has accumulated over seven million flight hours, demonstrating its reliability and suitability for demanding military operations. Notably, Brunei joins a growing list of nations deploying the H145M, including Cyprus, Germany, Hungary, Luxembourg, Serbia, and Thailand.

The H145M is packed with advanced features designed to optimize performance and reduce pilot workload. Twin Safran Arriel 2E engines with Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) provide reliable and efficient power. The Helionix avionics suite is a digital system that enhances situational awareness and flight control capabilities. A key element of this suite is the high-performance 4-axis autopilot, which significantly alleviates pilot workload during missions, allowing them to focus more on the mission at hand. Finally, the H145M boasts an exceptionally low acoustic footprint, making it a valuable asset for covert operations and minimizing noise pollution.

The acquisition of the H145M helicopters positions the Royal Brunei Air Force for the future, equipping them with a versatile and advanced platform to address a wide range of missions.
