Embraer has confirmed that it will showcase its KC-390 Millennium multi-mission medium transport aircraft at the upcoming Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2025, one of the largest defense and aerospace events in the Asia-Pacific region. The exhibition, held in Malaysia, offers Embraer an important opportunity to further its presence in a competitive and rapidly evolving market.

The KC-390 Millennium is designed to perform a range of missions, including cargo and troop transport, medical evacuation, aerial firefighting, and air-to-air refueling. The aircraft incorporates modern fly-by-wire technology and offers a high payload capacity, operational flexibility, and the ability to operate in challenging environments, features that have drawn attention from air forces worldwide.
Embraer’s efforts in Asia have gained significant momentum, especially following South Korea’s selection of the KC-390 Millennium for its Large Transport Aircraft (LTA) II program in December 2023. The Republic of Korea Air Force (RoKAF) became the first Asian customer for the KC-390, with plans to deploy the aircraft for a wide range of operations. The deal followed a competitive evaluation process, with technical capability, mission flexibility, and performance among the deciding factors. Embraer has emphasized the importance of this partnership, noting that the RoKAF’s adoption of the KC-390 is a strong endorsement of the aircraft’s suitability for both military and humanitarian missions in demanding operating environments.
While LIMA 2025 represents a key milestone for Embraer in Southeast Asia, the KC-390 Millennium first appeared in the region earlier in the year 2024 at the Singapore Airshow, held from Feb. 20 to 25. The aircraft’s debut at the Singapore Airshow marked its first public presentation in Southeast Asia, allowing regional stakeholders and potential customers to view the KC-390 and assess its capabilities firsthand. The appearance at Singapore set the stage for continued engagement with defense and industry representatives across Asia.
Embraer’s participation at LIMA 2025 is expected to build on the momentum from both the Singapore Airshow and the recent contract with South Korea. The company aims to demonstrate the KC-390’s operational value to other governments and defense organizations in the Asia-Pacific, leveraging its growing list of international customers and the strategic reference provided by the RoKAF.
