Delivery of T-50TH to Thailand completed

CJ Logistics, a South Korean logistics company, recently transported the final two T-50TH fighter jets from the Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) manufacturing facility in Sacheon, South Korea to the Takhli Air Base in Thailand. This delivery completes Thailand’s order for 12 T-50TH aircraft. Thailand first ordered four T-50TH jets in September 2015, and then ordered eight more in July, 2017.

The jets were taken apart and moved by land and air. CJ Logistics used trucks that did not shake and special covers to protect the jets from rain and rust during road transportation. When the parts were flown, they were tied down with strong straps to keep them from moving during turbulence. CJ Logistics in Thailand and the Thai Air Force worked together to make sure the trucks carrying the jet parts were safe on the way to the base. The jets were put back together when they arrived at the airbase.

This is not the first time CJ Logistics has moved military equipment, the company said in its press release. In 2022, they moved nine T-50B Black Eagles jets for an airshow in the United Kingdom. In 2023, they transported 12 FA-50GF jets to Poland. They have also moved helicopters and tanks. CJ Logistics plans to continue working in military logistics to help South Korea become a bigger seller of military equipment.

  1. TheT-50TH is not a fighter, per say, but an advanced trainer that has a secondary air to air role. If this aircraft was designed to be a fighter, than it would be designated as “F-50TH”.
