U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Justin Tite, 88th Test and Evaluation Squadron aerial gunner, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with valor for his actions on Apr. 23, 2011, in Afghanistan.
He had engaged the enemy during a six-hour-long sortie which resulted in the life-saving rescue of two Army crew members and recovery of another ground troop.
