Five RAF C-130Js were grounded earlier this year after a freak hailstorm in Kandahar airbase, Afghanistan.
Details of the repair effort, dubbed Operation Weatherman, were revealed in a citation of an award from the RAF Chief of the Air Staff to Marshall Aerospace.
