U.S. official said it was Russia Tu-22 that hit Syrian army base

A Syrian army base was hit by an air strike in the eastern province of Deir al-Zor on Dec. 6. Syria claims the U.S.-lead coalition was behind the attack but U.S. military officials say Russia was responsible.

One official told Reuters that the strike is likely to be carried out by a Russian Tu-22 bomber.
