“Make in India” Ka-226T program hits roadblock

India’s plan to produce 100 Ka-226T helicopters locally has encountered turbulence as Russian Helicopters is only willing to be responsible for its own systems and components in the “Make in India” helicopter.

Crucial parts such as the Turbomeca Arrius 2G1 engine will have to be negotiated separately with non-Russian vendors. Any delays in the talks could derail the program.
