A F-16 from the 416th Flight Test Squadron had the honor of being the first jet to receive fuel from the U.S. Air Force’s newest tanker. A total of 1,600 pounds of JP-8 flow from the tanker’s advanced refueling boom into the fuel tanks of the fighter flown by Lt. Col. Daniel Alix.
The C-17 is scheduled next to receive fuel and a F/A-18 and AV-8B will ensure that the tanker’s hose-and-drogue system is working properly.
