That weird-looking VTOL X-Plane has flown

Aurora Flight Sciences announced last week that a subscale model of its LightningStrike, Vertical Take-off and Landing Experimental Plane (VTOL X-plane) for DARPA has flown at a military installation.

This is a 20% scale flight model of the full scale demonstrator, which Aurora Flight Sciences will develop over the next 24 months.
