China’s Xinhua news agency reported that Thailand might consider the Shaanxi Y-9 transport aircraft as a candidate to replace the Royal Thai Air Force’s C-130.
Outgoing Air Force chief Trithod Sonchaeng signaled that his service is looking into replacing the C-130H fleet.
The other possible contender mentioned in Xinhua’s report is the Lockheed Martin C-130J.
