IAF F-16I deputy squadron commander killed after ejecting

An Israeli Air Force F-16I crashed in southern Israel on Oct. 5 and the pilot, a deputy squadron commander, died after ejecting from the aircraft.

The navigator received only minor injuries.

The mishap aircraft was part of a strike package that raided the Gaza strip and the jet was returning to land at Ramon Air Force Base.
