The Airbus C295W medium transport operated as an aerial refueling tanker on Sept. 29 for the first time. The tanker was equipped with a palletized air-to-air refueling unit and a Spanish Air Force C295 made several contacts with the drogue.

Down the road, Airbus intends to carry out further trials with the C295W passing fuel to helicopters.
