The New York Times says it has reviewed a confidential plan to expand the production of the JF-17 fighter via the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative.

The story was corroborated by officials at Pakistan’s Ministry of Planning and Development. Under the plan, the jet’s radar, avionics and weapons would be manufactured in a special zone under CPEC.
