Nine Slovak F-16s to bed down at Morris ANG Base

The U.S. Air Force has designated Morris Air National Guard Base in Arizona as the selected location to house up to nine Slovak-owned F-16s. This arrangement is set to commence in the spring of 2024 and extend through fiscal year 2026 at the 162nd Wing.

The arrival of these Slovak-owned F-16s at Morris ANGB will necessitate an increase of nearly 30 Air National Guard personnel. Notably, out of the potential nine aircraft, only four will be actively utilized for the flying training of Slovak Air Force pilots.

It’s important to underscore that this initiative is not intended to replace the ongoing initial qualification pilot training provided to the Slovak Air Force through the 162nd Wing. Instead, it aims to complement and expedite the development of the Slovak pilot cadre.
