Sweden has confirmed it can deliver Gripen E fighter jets to Ukraine within the requested timeline and will establish a joint defense innovation hub with Swedish personnel stationed on Ukrainian soil, Swedish Defense Minister Paul Johnson and Ukrainian Defense Minister Dennis Shimal announced at a press conference in Stockholm on Nov. 6.

Spain to kick off Exercise Eagle Eye 25-3

Spain launched Exercise Eagle Eye 25-03 on Sept. 15, deploying six F-18 fighters, PATRIOT missile systems, and the frigate “Cristóbal Colón” in a four-day integrated air defense demonstration spanning the Canary Islands and Atlantic Ocean. The exercise tests rapid-response capabilities with 15-minute alert protocols while coordinating assets from all three military services under a unified command structure.

Swedish Defence Materiel Administration signs contract for Thales Ground Master 200 radars

The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (Försvarets materielverk – FMV) has signed a contract with Thales for the delivery of Ground Master 200 Multi-Mission Compact radar systems (GM200 MM/C). The agreement, valued at approximately one billion Swedish kronor, was finalized on Apr. 3.

Australia’s ‘Biggest defense export’: JORN radar heads to Canadian Arctic

In a move signaling a determined assertion of Arctic sovereignty amid a shifting global security landscape, Canada has announced a significant partnership with Australia to deploy a cutting-edge early warning radar system. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, during his inaugural domestic tour to Iqaluit, Nunavut, revealed the initiative to build an Arctic Over-The-Horizon Radar system in collaboration with Canada’s “long-standing defence and security partner,” Australia. This project, underpinned by a Canadian investment exceeding $6 billion already earmarked in the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) modernisation plan, aims to bolster Canada’s capacity to “detect and respond to both air and maritime threats over our Arctic, faster and from further away,” ultimately ensuring the safety of all Canadians.
