119th EFS arrived in U.S. Central Command’s area of responsibility

In a strategic move to bolster U.S. presence and deter further aggression in the U.S. Central Command region, the New Jersey Air National Guard’s 119th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron has arrived with an additional squadron of F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft. This deployment comes as part of a broader effort by the Department of Defense to enhance the capability of U.S. forces to defend themselves in the face of escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Poland becomes first international customer for advanced LTAMDS radar

Poland has made history by becoming the first international customer to add the advanced 360-degree Lower-Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensors (LTAMDS) radar to its air and missile defense capabilities. The announcement comes after the Polish Minister of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, approved a Letter of Acceptance with the U.S. Army to bolster the country’s air defense systems.

U.S. Marine Corps set to strengthen Air Defense with additional purchase of Iron Dome system

The United States Marine Corps (USMC) is poised to bolster its defense capabilities with the acquisition of the Iron Dome air defense system, a move outlined in an official notice of intent recently published on the System for Award Management site. This strategic procurement involves the acquisition of 1,840 Tamir interceptor missiles, 44 launchers, and 11 US-made command centers, signaling a significant enhancement to the Marine Corps’ air defense capabilities.

A BQM-177 is launched from the Marine Corps’ Medium Range Intercept Capability system during Live Fire 2 as part of a quad-launch event at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, in September 2022. A project of Program Executive Officer Land Systems, MRIC provides the warfighter with a state-of-the-art missile system that detects, tracks, identifies, and defeats enemy cruise missiles and other manned and unmanned aerial threats.
