Romania cleared to buy Patriot air defense missile system

The U.S. State Department has cleared the Foreign Military Sale case of Patriot air defense missile system to Romania. Congress was informed on the decision on Jul. 10.

U.S. Army Soldiers, with the 5th Battalion 7th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, stage “Patriot” missile defense systems for a “Patriot Shock” exercise in Capu Midia, Romania on November 4, 2016. The weeklong exercise tests the unit’s quick response deployment readiness and increases joint interoperability with “Patriot” missile systems and their Romanian partners. (DoD News photo by Tech.
