Two U.S. Senators have turned down the Pentagon’s request for $27.2 million to keep the JLENS program alive.

Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Thad Cochran, and Sen. Richard Durbin, who is the number two in the Democrat leadership in the Senate, have both said they prefer to have the program canceled.

Rostec Head Sergei Chemezov told TASS that China has made an advance payment for the sale of the S-400 air defense system. Deliveries could commence in the first quarter of 2017.

An anonymous South Korean military official told Yonhap that the indigenous M-SAM air defense system has been deployed along the maritime border with North Korea in the Yellow Sea.
