A RAND Project AIR FORCE report looks at the current capabilities of the Chinese and American air forces and found that although the U.S. has unparalleled air-to-air capability over China, it will be tough to attain air superiority during the first days or weeks of a possible conflict with China.

Russia building air defense base in Arctic
Interfax reported that Moscow intends to build an air defense base on Sredniy Island. The Northern Fleet has dispatched an icebreaker to carved a channel for construction ships to reach the area.

AN/MPQ-64F1 radars sold to Latvia

Lockheed Martin started construction of world’s largest digital phased array radar
Lockheed Martin’s Space Fence System has cleared the Critical Design Review (CDR) conducted by the U.S. Air Force. Construction of the world’s largest digital phased array radar has begun on Kwajalein Island, the company said.
