Kazakhstan received five S-300PS air defense systems for free

Russia has donated five S-300PS air defense systems to Kazakhstan. The systems were delivered by railway to the Zhetysu station near Almaty.

Belarus, Russia to research on Strela-10M replacement

Belarusian Deputy Defense Minister Maj. Gen. Igor Lotenkov announced that his country and Russia will develop a new air defense system to replace the Strela-10M (NATO: SA-13)

Russian planning to install new early warning radar in Azerbaijan

TV Zvezda reported that Moscow intends to install a new early warning radar in Azerbaijan. The Voronezh-DM will replace the old radar at Gabala, which was decommissioned in 2012 after Baku declined to renew its lease.

U.S. will withdraw Patriot missile battery from Turkey too

The United States will withdraw its Patriot missile battery deployed in Turkey this October for “critical modernization upgrades,” a joint Turkish-U.S. statement said.

Buk-M3 to enter active service in 2016

The third generation Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system will enter service next year. Testing of the system is about to be completed and will be made operational end of the year.
