Taiwan has detected Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning and her escorts moving north on the western side of Taiwan Strait on the night of Jan. 10 and has scrambled IDFs and E-2K to monitor the PLAN ships.

The Republic of Korea Air Force scrambled around 10 F-15 and F-16 fighters after China dispatched 8 of its warplanes into the Tsushima Strait.

McKinney mid-air collision victim was also last person selected to fly SR-71
One of the three people killed in a mid-air collision of two private aircraft near Aero Country Airport in McKinney on Dec. 31 was retired LTC. Greg “Spanky” Barber. Barber was the last person selected to pilot the SR-71 before the supersonic spy plane was retired.

Deborah Lee James: F/A-18 and F-35 not interchangeable
