Luftwaffe’s Tornado detachment at Holloman AFB might cease operations in 2019

The German Air Force has a detachment of Tornado fighter-bombers at Holloman Air Force Base in the United States. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the German Air Force Flying Training Center at Holloman. During the annual New Year’s reception by the center, the commanding officer of the center told the crowd that the contract to keep the Tornados at Holloman might not be renewed this year.

JASDF aircraft failed to detect radioactive materials in air samples

Japan has decided to cease all flights to collect air samples and test them for radioactive materials that might be present in the atmosphere after North Korea said it donated a nuclear weapon on Jan. 6.
