Germany, France request the use of Turkish air bases, while Italy could deploy SAMP/T

Germany and France have separately approached Turkey for permission to use Turkish air bases in order to support their air missions against ISIL.

Luftwaffe only has 29 operational Tornado fighter-bombers

German media was able to obtain a report published by the Defense Minister, it was reported that the Luftwaffe only has 29 operational Tornado fighter-bombers, out of 66 in its inventory.

Second A400M delivered to Luftwaffe

The German Defense Ministry said a second A400M has been delivered on Dec. 2 and a third transport aircraft will be arriving by the end of the year.

Germany to join Multinational MRTT Fleet

Netherlands, Norway and Poland selected the A330 MRTT under a program named Multinational MRTT Fleet (MFF) whereby they will jointly use the tankers. Now, Germany has indicated that it will join the MFF as well.

Shinto priests, U.S. Air Force chaplain bless new fire engine at Yokota Air Base

The 374th Civil Engineer Squadron at Yokota Air Base, Japan invited Shinto priests and a U.S. Air Force chaplain to bless a new fire engine on Nov. 25.
