One of the victims of an avalanche in Nepal was a navigator in the Israeli Air Force. Tamar Ariel was posthumously promoted to captain on Thursday.

Danish F-16s flew first mission against ISIL
Danish F-16 fighter jets flew their first mission over northern Iraq on Oct. 16. However, the jets were not called to carry out any air strikes against ISIL during the first mission.
