Exercise Beverly Sunrise 22-04 in Japan

The U.S. Air Force, Navy and the Japan Air Self-Defense Force carried out exercise Beverly Sunrise 22-04 at Misawa Air Base, and Yokota Air Base, Japan, May 7-13.

Sixteen U.S. Air Force F-16CM Fighting Falcons, 12 Japan Air Self-Defense Force F-35A Lightning II Joint Strike Fighters, two JASDF E-2C Hawkeyes, one JASDF CH-47 Chinook, one U.S. Navy EA-18G Growler, one USN C-12 Huron, and one USN P-8 Poseidon perform a wing capabilites demonstration to culminate a week-long readiness exercise at Misawa Air Base, Japan, May 13, 2022. The large formation was part of a routine exercise scenerio that tested the 35th FIghter Wing’s ability to generate airpower in support of the defense of Japan and other partner nations, ensuring the stability and security of a free and open Indo-Pacific region. 133rd Airlift Wing receives first C-130H with eight-bladed propellers

The first C-130H with eight-bladed propellors assigned to the 133rd Airlift Wing has returned home after modifications.

A C-130 Hercules from the 133rd Airlift Wing is parked on the flight line in St. Paul, Minn., May 11, 2022. The 133rd is currently in the second phase of the modernization process, which includes transitioning the C-130s from four-bladed propellers to eight-bladed propellers. The eight-bladed propellers will deliver more power and efficiency while reducing maintenance. The completion of this phase is projected to end in September 2023.
