JASDF F-35As train with USS America

USS America (LHA 6) participated in advanced combined operations with F-35As from Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) in the Pacific Ocean on Oct. 20.

PACIFIC OCEAN (Oct. 20, 2020) F-35 Lightning II aircraft assigned to the Japan Air Self Defense Force conduct integrated air operations with the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6). America, lead ship of the America Amphibious Ready Group and assigned to Amphibious Squadron 11, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. Taiwan MND refutes report that USAF RC-135W flew over Taipei

We have obtained a copy of a statement by Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense (MND) this morning refuting a report that says a U.S. Air Force (USAF) RC-135W reconnaissance plane had flew over the north of Taiwan.
