HH-60W achieves LRIP milestone

The Sikorsky HH-60W Combat Rescue Helicopter (CRH) has been cleared for low rate initial production by the Pentagon.

The Sikorsky Combat Rescue Helicopter will perform critical combat search and rescue and personnel recovery operations for all U.S. military services. “This decision begins the transition to this more capable and reliable helicopter to fulfill the Air Force’s mission to leave no one behind,” says Col. Dale R. White, Program Executive Officer, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Special Operations Forces, USAF.

No room for error!

This picture of the South Korean Black Eagles Team was probably taken during the Osan airshow over the weekend. Whilst it looks like both jets are stacked together, a closer inspection of the wings show both are actually far apart.

USAF is looking at using the C-5M for medevac missions

Air Mobility Command has started evaluations on turning the C-5M cargo plane into a flying hospital for large-scale aeromedical evacuation.

U.S. Air Force aeromedical evacuation team members participate in a training scenerio during a C-5M Super Galaxy AE proof of concept flight from Scott AFB, Illinois, Dec. 5, 2018. Active Duty, Reserve and Delaware Air National Guard Airmen worked together during the PoC to test the cargo compartment of the C-5M with the goal of establishing the aircraft as part of the universal qualification training program for all AE crews.
