Arnold Air Force Base’s F-16 honors Maj. Gen. Winfield S. Harpe

A prominent feature at Gate 2 of Arnold Air Force Base stands as a tribute to the late Major General Winfield S. Harpe – an F-16 Fighting Falcon, resplendent in its dedication to a distinguished career and a life devoted to the United States Air Force.

The static F-16 Fighting Falcon on display outside Gate 2 at Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn., is dedicated to Maj. Gen. Winfield Harpe. He was killed on Dec. 5, 1988, when the aircraft he was piloting crashed in Madrid, Spain. The display was dedicated in memory of Harpe during a June 26, 2010, ceremony. Croatia takes delivery of its first Rafale fighter

Brazil eyes sale of Embraer C-390 aircraft to Sweden

Brazilian Defense Minister Jose Mucio has announced plans to travel to Sweden next month to negotiate a potential sale of Embraer’s C-390 Millennium military cargo aircraft to the Nordic nation. The move comes as Brazil explores the possibility of selling three to four C-390 aircraft to Sweden, while Sweden expresses interest in increasing its sale of Saab Gripen E fighter jets to Brazil.

BAE Systems continues to ensure readiness of F-22’s EW system
