F-35A to join F-22 at Seoul ADEX

Media outlets in South Korea are reporting that the Pentagon will dispatch the F-35A to Asia Pacific for the first time and the conventional takeoff and landing variant will join the F-22 at Seoul International Aerospace & Defense Exhibition, or Seoul ADEX.

F-35’s ejection seat still pose a risk to pilots

The U.S. Air Force’s Technical Airworthiness Authority completed an internal report on May 1 and the experts concluded that the F-35’s ejection seat will not be able to save pilots in rare cases.

Some F-35s will stick with Block 2B software

The F-35 program office is considering an option to keep some F-35s in the U.S. fleet with Block 2B software, instead of sending them for an expensive upgrade to newer standards, Stephen Trimble reports.
