A group of Taiwanese lawmakers were in the U.S. last week and news reports say they managed to convince International Turbine Engine Co (ITEC) partner – Honeywell – not to impose a price hike on turbofan engines required for their indigenous advanced jet trainer.
Two days before Christmas, 1944, 2nd Lt. Charles E. Carlson was shot down and killed in his P-47 over Europe. His remains were recovered last year and during his funeral service on Aug. 4 at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, his unit – the 62nd Fighter Squadron – flew a missing man formation fly-over with four F-35As.
Tech. Sgt. Courtney – her last name is censored – has become the U.S. Air Force’s first female enlisted pilot.
