USAF’s first enlisted pilots since WW2

Three airmen completed undergraduate remotely piloted aircraft training on May 5 and made history by becoming the first group of enlisted men to serve as pilots in the U.S. Air Force since World War 2.

MQ-9 has dropped its first JDAM

The MQ-9 recently dropped a GBU-38 Joint Direct Attack Munition at a range, adding another weapon to the drone’s arsenal.

F-22 Inc 3.2B Mod completes firing trials of AIM-9X, AIM-120D

Edwards Air Force Base posted a press release on May 4 saying that the F-22 Increment 3.2B Modernization have completed firing trials with the AIM-9X and AIM-120D air-to-air missiles.

Philippine UH-1D crashes, 3 killed

Three people on board a Philippine Air Force UH-1D were killed when the helicopter crashed during a training mission in Tanay, Rizal on May 4.

Tu-95s approach Alaska with Su-35s as escorts

For the first time, Russia Tu-95 long-range bombers have approached Alaska with Su-35s acting as escorts. The incident took place on May 3 and news outlets reported that a pair of USAF F-22s intercepted the formation.
