Apache stuck in mud after emergency landing
A U.S. National Guard AH-64 had to make an emergency landing on a muddy field east of Baytown in Cove, Texas on Aug. 31 and now the Guardsmen have to figure out how to get it out of the mud.

U.S. Army soldiers could be firing the M230 chain gun in future
The U.S. Army is making plans to make the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle its new Light Reconnaissance Vehicle platform and arm it with a variant of the M230 chain gun found on the AH-64 attack helicopter.

U.S. Army selects ATEC for new engine to power Apache and Black Hawk
The U.S. Army wants a new advanced 3,000 shaft horsepower turbine engine to its fleet of Black Hawk and Apache helicopters. For that, it selected the Advanced Turbine Engine Company (ATEC), a joint venture of Honeywell and Pratt & Whitney, to accomplish the task.

Japan deploying Type 3 Chū-SAM Kai in Okinawa Prefecture
Japan Ground Self-Defense Force’s air defense units in Miyakojima island and Ishigakijima island in Okinawa Prefecture will be the first in the country to receive the new Type 3 Chū-SAM Kai air defense missile system.
