Final Doolittle Raiders Goblet ceremony will see 14 USAF aircraft making a flyover

A final Doolittle Raiders Goblet ceremony will be held on Apr. 18 and the U.S. Air Force is sending 14 aircraft to the flyover in Florida.

The upright goblets represent aircrew who have survived to this day. During the ceremony the name of every person was read and a Doolittle Raider responds to indicate the spirit of those who passed are present. The collection of goblets, each with an aircrew name engraved both right side up and upside down. The set of goblets is now maintained by the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. B-1B #85-0080 is now retired to Barksdale Global Power Museum

The Barksdale Global Power Museum has obtained retired B-1B #08-0080 as a static exhibit last month.

Airmen from the 2nd Bomb Wing pose for a photo at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, Feb. 19, 2022, after relocating a retired B-1B Lancer to its new location. Approximately ten squadrons across the wing worked together to move the B-1 from the flightline to the Barksdale Global Power Museum.

Spectre 17 crew reunited with AC-130A 50 years after it was hit by 57mm round over Vietnam

The crew of Spectre 17 was reunited with their aircraft to commemorate the 50th anniversary of its combat damage by a 57mm round during Operation Commando Hunt in Vietnam.
