Two times Red Bull Air Race champion and former F-4 pilot killed in L-39 accident
Mike Mangold, who won the Red Bull Air Race World Championship twice in 2005 and 2007 was killed in a L-39 accident on Dec. 6.

Archaeologists survey PBY-5 sunk during Pearl Harbor attack
Archaeologists from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and University of Hawaii archaeologists were recently able to conduct a detailed archaeological survey of a U.S. Navy PBY-5 Catalina airplane sunk during the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941.

Argentine Air Force retired its Mirage fighters
The Argentine Air Force retired all its remaining Mirage fighters at VI Air Brigade in Tandil on Nov. 29. Active and retired airmen gathered to bid the jets a final farewell.
