Canada awards Bombardier $546 million contract for six Global 6500

The Canadian government has awarded Bombardier a $546 million contract to deliver six Global 6500 aircraft to the Royal Canadian Air Force, marking one of the first major procurements under the newly established Defence Investment Agency.

Thailand becomes first customer for Airbus A330 MRTT+

The Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) has made aviation history by becoming the first customer to order Airbus’s next-generation A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport Plus (MRTT+). The order, announced Sept. 25, marks a important milestone for Airbus as it transitions its tanker program from the legacy A330-200 to the more advanced A330neo variant.

LIG NEX1-Korean Air Consortium takes lead in South Korea’s Electronic Warfare aircraft program

The LIG NEX1-Korean Air consortium has emerged as the highest-scoring bidder in South Korea’s 1.78 trillion won ($1.29 billion) electronic warfare aircraft program, outperforming the competing Korea Aerospace Industries-Hanwha Systems team in technical evaluations, according to defense industry sources.

Textron’s ATAC unit wins $7.82 million contract for F-16 chase services

Airborne Tactical Advantage Company, a unit of Textron Inc., secured a task order worth up to $7.82 million to provide chase flight support services for F-16 aircraft under the Foreign Military Sales program, the company announced Aug. 18.

A pilot taxis down the flightline in an F-21 Kafir aboard Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, Nov. 6. The Airborne Tactical Advantage Company is training with Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 501 for the next two weeks to support new and transition pilots in their certification for the F-35B. The pilot is with ATAC.
