In order for the F-16 to employ the new GBU-53/B Small Diameter Bomb II, Raytheon has developed a software technology, called Interface Bridge, for the weapon to work with the 1760 interface.

Lockheed Martin recently completed 25,000 hours of simulated flight time on an F-16C Block 50 aircraft. Further testing is being conducted to identify a definitive, safe flight hour limit for the aircraft.
