California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) was so impressed by the MV-22’s capability to fight fires during a demonstration at Hemet-Ryan Airfield on Feb. 11 that it has decided to call up the tiltrotor for fire fighting duties starting from May this year.

A new light weight Generation III Helmet-Mounted Display System for the F-35 will be tested this month. The new helmet design is meant to mitigate the issue with the jet’s ejection seat system.

It was good news for the families of late Lt. Col. John Brow and Maj. Brooks Gruber after Deputy Secretary of Defense Robert Work stated officially that the two men were incorrectly blamed as the primary cause of a V-22 crash in April 2000 that killed them and 17 other Marines.
