MV-22 assisting in rescue of Osprey that went down had to land on padding
A MV-22B with VMM-262 was forced to land on padding after its landing gear failed to work as the Osprey return to Futenma after assisting in the rescue effort of another Osprey that went down off Okinawa on Dec. 13.

Japan asks U.S. to suspend MV-22 flights
Japan’s Defense Minister Tomomi Inada told reporters that she has asked the U.S. military to suspend flights of the MV-22 after one went down in waters off Okinawa on Dec. 13.

MV-22 mishap off coast of Okinawa
A U.S. Marine Corps MV-22 had to make an emergency landing in shallow water off the Okinawa coastline of Camp Schwab at approximately 10:00 p.m., Dec. 13.
