Intercepted communications suggest Chinese bombers conducted mock attack on USS Theodore Roosevelt

Financial Times reported that intelligence collected by the U.S. and its allies on Jan. 23 found that China had carried out a mock attack on U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt that day when the warship transit the Bashi Channel south of Taiwan.

First airborne interoperability practice between USMC F-35C and USN E-2D

U.S. Marines and Sailors with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 314 and Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 117, respectively, fly together for the first time in San Diego, Calif., Jan. 14, 2021. VAW-117 flies the E-2D Hawkeye whereas VMFA-314 flies the F-35C Lightning II, this was the first time the two units practiced airborne interoperability.
