Building two warships to replace Aegis Ashore for Japan will cost $4.8 billion

A audit into the costs of building two new warships as the alternative for Aegis Ashore has found that it will cost Japan $4.8 billion.

The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and U.S. Sailors manning the Aegis Ashore Missile Defense Test Complex (AAMDTC) at the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) at Kauai, Hawaii, successfully conducted Flight Test Integrated-03 (FTI-03).

VAQ-131 completes expeditionary deployment in Japan, replaced by VAQ-135

VAQ-131 has completed its first expeditionary deployment at NAF Misawa, Japan on Nov. 6 and was reliefed by VAQ-135.
