RAND: Japan will be wasting valuable resources to operate fixed-wing aircraft carriers
Political scientist Jeffrey W. Hornung from RAND said in a commentary on DefenseOne that Japan will be wasting valuable resources in terms of manpower and money to convert the Izumo-class helicopter destroyers into fixed-wing aircraft carriers.

Japan to develop its own version of CEC
Japan’s Ministry of Defense has requested for $60 million for fiscal 2019 to start research on its own version of the Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) sensor network.
