Another attempt by Florida’s politicians to bring a carrier to Mayport

Florida’s Senators Bill Nelson and Marco Rubio have sent a letter to President Donald Trump asking for funding in 2019 in order to bring a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier to NS Mayport.

USS Carl Vinson will be first carrier to visit Vietnam since end of hostilities

USS Carl Vinson is scheduled to make a port call in Da Nang, Vietnam this March, officials from both countries announced during a two-day visit to Hanoi by U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis.

CAG-2 and CO VFA-2 completed their 1,000th trap together

Capt. Tom Barber, Commander, Carrier Air Wing 2 (CVW-2) and Commander Jason Hutcherson, commanding officer of VFA-2, completed their 1,000th trap on a carrier on this F/A-18F on Jan. 18.

French Navy to retire Alouette III and lease civilian helicopters

The French Navy is not waiting for the Airbus H160 to be inducted as the replacement for its Alouette III fleet and will go ahead and replace them using leased civilian helicopters.
