Florida’s Senators Bill Nelson and Marco Rubio have sent a letter to President Donald Trump asking for funding in 2019 in order to bring a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier to NS Mayport.
USS Carl Vinson is scheduled to make a port call in Da Nang, Vietnam this March, officials from both countries announced during a two-day visit to Hanoi by U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis.

Capt. Tom Barber, Commander, Carrier Air Wing 2 (CVW-2) and Commander Jason Hutcherson, commanding officer of VFA-2, completed their 1,000th trap on a carrier on this F/A-18F on Jan. 18.
