China releases video showing its PLANAF J-11BSH fighter intercepting USAF RC-135V

On December 21, there was an encounter between a Chinese People’s Liberation Army Naval Air Force (PLANAF) J-11BSH fighter jet and a US Air Force RC-135V #64-14842 Rivet Joint electronic intelligence aircraft over the South China Sea in international airspace. The U.S. has accused the Chinese fighter jet of “unsafe and unprofessional” behavior, stating that the Chinese pilot flew within six meters of the USAF plane, forcing it to take “evasive action” to avoid a collision.

F-15C pilot describes how he beat a TOPGUN student in a mock dogfight

Students from the U.S. Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) held their graduation capstone event Nov. 18-20, 2022, at Naval Air Station Fallon, Nevada and five pilots from the 194th Fighter Squadron, 144th Fighter Wing, California Air National Guard were invited to play as opponents.

100 years ago, the first purpose-built aircraft carrier was commissioned into service

IJN Hōshō, the world’s first purpose-built aircraft carrier and Japan’s first aircraft carrier was commissioned into service 100 years ago today.
