JPATS’s 16-year production run to end in nine months

After churning out more than 900 T-6 Texan IIs for the U.S. Air Force and Navy, Beechcraft will deliver the last aircraft under the Joint Primary Aircraft Training System (JPATS) in nine months.

Russian Navy gets involved in Syria by firing 26 cruise missiles from Caspian Sea

Updated with video from Russia’s Ministry of Defense.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu told President Vladimir Putin today that four Russian Navy ships based in the Caspian Sea had fired 26 cruise missiles at 11 targets in Syria.

Tomahawk proves it can do battle damage assessment, loiter and then attack another target

In a test with USS Gridley (DDG 101), a Tomahawk Block IV cruise missile was fired from the ship and the cruise missile flew over a designated point and captured imagery using its on board camera.

U.S. Navy took control of airborne EW pod from ship using Link 16

A team from Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division successfully took control of an airborne electronic warfare (EW) pod mounted on a AV-8B from a ship using Link 16 during Talisman Sabre 2015 in Australia.
