Secretary of the U.S. Navy Ray Mabus said the F-35C will “almost certainly will be, the last manned strike fighter aircraft the Department of the Navy will ever buy or fly.”

The Office of Naval Research (ONR) has successfully demonstrated swarming unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as part of its Low-Cost UAV Swarming Technology (LOCUST) program.
The U.S. Navy has decided that it had collected enough data out of the X-47B program and will cease flight testing once aerial refueling testing is completed.
