The F-35 Joint Program Office has selected the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Research Development and Engineering Center to perform independent software safety analyses of the aircraft.

The Pentagon has further eased restrictions imposed on the F-35 test fleet by allowing the roughly twenty jets to to fly six hours between engine inspection if their missions involved aerial refueling missions and weapons testing.

VAQ-138 will relieve VAQ 132 at NAF Misawa, Japan this month. The squadron brought five EA-18 G Growler aircraft and approximately 190 personnel for this deployment.

The U.S. Navy was supposed to stand up VAQ-143, its fourth expeditionary electronic attack squadron, in October. The activation has been postponed to another date.
