Lockheed Martin is closer to fixing the tailhook problem on the F-35C with redesigned components. So far, a sharpened point has been tested and a modified damper will be ready by next summer.

USS Enterprise to inactivate Dec. 1
After 51 years of distinguished service, the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN 65) will inactivate on Dec. 1, 2012, in a ceremony to be held at Norfolk Naval Station, in Norfolk.
