Marines fire Stinger missile from Mark VI patrol boat in the Philippine Sea

U.S. Marines with 2nd Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), fire a FIM-92 stinger missile from a Mark VI patrol boat during a live fire exercise in the Philippine Sea, Feb. 27, 2021. This training event was the first time a FIM-92 stinger missile has been fired from a Mark VI patrol boat. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the Amphibious Squadron 11 in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. VFA-97 trading F/A-18E for F-35C

VFA-97 has flown the final flights on their F/A-18E and the squadron will now prepare to transition to the F-35C.

Thunderbirds and Blue Angels debut the Super Delta formation

(Mar. 02, 2021) The United States Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, “Thunderbirds” and the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, debut a F-16 Fighting Falcon and F/A-18 Super Hornet flight formation known as the “Super Delta” during a joint training evolution over Naval Air Facility (NAF) El Centro.. The formation grew out of a series of joint training opportunities held in 2020 and 2021, and serves as a symbol of the teamwork, discipline, and skill of the men and women of our United States military forces deployed around the globe.
